Default Grind sound on stop

I notice that if I am coming to a stop just before the car stops, the transmission will do a "grind" sound. It doesn't matter what gear it is, I thought it was 1st only, but it turns out as long as left in gear, just a moment before it stops it makes a grind and I see my speedo spike. If not in gear, there is no grind coming to a stop.

I'm going to change fluid tomorrow and see if it helps, wondering if I'm low on fluid and its just inertia of all the fluid going forward.

Anyone notice this happen?

Your speedometer spikes or does your tachometer spike? (If your speedometer is spiking, your wheels should be turning at the same rate.)

I noticed the grind happening on slow maneuvers like trying to park. It looks like something is not right in there right now, but its intermittent. I can't replicate it by either coming to a stop or just moving it. Either way, it happens when its crawling is the best description...

What did you mean about your comment regarding a speedometer spike?

Actually after more diagnocing, I noticed I have clutch drag. It'll move forward in 1st if I rev up to 4k+.

I tried adjusting my master, got to 18 turns on the master and still no difference. I actually got it so far its not engaging the clutch safety switch...

I backed it off to 13 turns, it lessened the grind making me think the grind on stop is clutch drag. Will make a new post for the new issue.
