McLeod RST or RXT for My Setup?
Hey Guys!
I have a 9 inch rear end on the way and my LS7 clutch is giving up the ghost, so it's time to upgrade.
I'm going with a McLeod twin disc clutch.... I just have to decide which one.
Looks like the RST and RXT are my main choices.
The setup is a stock ci LS1 h/c car that currently traps 123-124 mph n/a. Hoping to run a 200-250 shot with a plate setup and get as close to 140 mph as possible.
This is a street car that will see the drag strip 1-2 times per month, and I would also like to try road racing at some point. Tranny is a built T56, and will soon have a MWC 9" with 4.11 gears with S-trac (non-spool). The car will run on MT ET street radials for my 'lazy' days and 26x10.5 or 28x10.5 ET Streets/Drags for 'kill mode'.
Hoping to squeeze out bottom 11 sec passes on motor and low 10's on nitrous.
The car put down 440-450 rwhp on the motor, guessing it will make low-mid 600's to the wheels with a 200-250 shot of nitrous.
Should I run the RST or RXT McLeod clutch?

I would use the RXT. I have one in mine along with a Tick master cyl and it's the best behaved clutch I've ever driven. The copper ceramic material holds a ton of power and it will recover from high heat situations where the organic material in the RST could glaze.
You must have your race weight down pretty good to trap that high at your power level.....3300ish lbs?

OK, so +2 for the RXT huh? Thanks guys!
@jmm98LS1, I have done some weight removal since the last time it was on the scales, my guess is it's about 3250-3300, so 3450-3500 with me in it.
It put down 443/417 immediately after the engine was built. My guess is that it picked up some power in the break-in, it's probably making close to 450-460 now? And, as you know, all dynos read differently...
