I just bought a SS the other day and it has a tranny issue with 4th gear grinding. Well thats fine. I can skip 4th but It locks me out of 3rd everytime. Its suppose to have a new GM clutch installed by a dealership but from looking at the clutch master it hasn't been changed in a while if ever. It locks me out a 4k but down low everything is smooth as butter. Do you think it could be a weak master cylinder or maybe internal?

Probably a hydraulic issue. That's a pretty common symptom of hydraulics. Could be as easy to fix by doing the drill mod but depending on the miles of the car you might as well change out the slave and the master
