transmission swap
hello everyone, i just purchased a 00 ss camaro that was originally a 6 spd manual trans, now it has a hughes racing turbo 400 3spd, my question is what can i do to get the car more street friendly, it has a 3500 stall and 410 rear end gears with a dana 60 rear end. when i am cruising around 60mph it is around 3200 rpm, so i would need something with an overdrive. what would be the best way to go, im guessing it would have to be a manual valve body trans, since it was origianally a 6spd manual, however i would like to keep it with a rachet style shifter. i plan on installing a rear mount turbo in the next few months, since it is a 408 stroker with low compression, and i would like to be able to handle the power. any suggestions please?

Ok, so I guess I can make the turbo 400 3spd work, I just need to know if swapping my cam to a more street able application and a lower speed tq converter that would work with a different rear end gear in the low 3s, I just have no idea what will work together, any help?

that 3500 stall will be ok. if your gona go FI you might want to look into a bigger stall actually so you will be more in your powerband. but if you want streetable you might want look into swaping the 400 out for a 4l80e so you can have a 4 speed with lock up. i think the perfect set up for FI is about a 4k stall with a 3.42ish gear, turbos like load.
