I have a spec 3 now and hate it.

The chatter when starting off is beyond annoying.

I want a clutch that I can let out with no gas pedal, or starting off going up hill, and no chatter like I did with the stocker and ls6 clutch, but won't melt during the few times I utilize all 500HP

If you want absolute 0 chatter then your choices are limited either to a street twin clutch or a badass non-puck clutch. Are you looking at 500whp or 500 crank. Moster's stage 2 is still a normal single disk clutch so it wont chatter and will hold 550whp. but again depending on what you meant that may or may not be pushing it for your setup

Im looking for a new clutch as well but for 700+. i have a spec 2+ now with around 550whp and seems to be holding so far with no chatter tho i dont dump on stock rear. Im thinking maybe text or diamond stage 3? any single disc probably gonna have chatter for that power level.

AFASTY is that with the power level in your sig? miles? track?

If you read around here that's not totally true.

I have a Diamond stage 2 and it has very very faint chatter occassionally. You can learn to avoid certain driving habits that tend to create this chatter (hate to even call it chatter as it feels more like a very light and brief vibration).

If you want no chatter you may have to get a twin disc setup like mentioned above, but I can't speak for how well they work as I don't have one.

Another option would be an LS7, but they are definately hit or miss at that power level.

i have done a lot of reading and i havent seen really anyone complain of chatter with the stage 2. however I know a couple people with the stage 3 which is a puck style and you WILL have chatter. you can drive it to a point where it wont chatter but taking off slipping the clutch will result in at least some small chatter

I never race the car. Would be 500rwhp but it very rarely gets run that hard. 99.9% of the time its set for only 6psi which is more in the 450rwhp range. Looking like LS7 might be the best bang for the buck with a bit of a risk it won't hold. Sound right?

Got a car with FI & dont race it? Makes sense. I dont race mine either, rarely gets run hard. The LS7 is a great street clutch & will handle some track abuse so you could get away with running one for a few years.

More like "you can get away with a few runs" at the track. I would go with a twin disc for sure! The Mcleod RST sounds like your best options. It has a silky smooth engagement and will hold much more power than the LS7 with a light pedal. Plus it will handle some abuse at the track then drive home like a stock clutch.

well duh, you get what you pay for, RST is almost $800, ls7 is around $400, maybe less. What do you expect out of a clutch that is half the price?

Monster 3 or greater
Sounds like you dont like spec but you could go higher there.
All these will work, its all your choice if you want to save some cash and have a little chatter possibly but still a strong clutch or go with something more expensive, drives a little better and will hold that power all day. Comes down to money, as with most car parts.

^^$800 my sound expensive now but it will save him the cost of doing it twice. The OP said he wants no chatter and something to handle 500hp. Why tell him to cheap out and buy a clutch thats not going to fit the bill?
