Universal Tilton Master Cylinder for T56 swap
hey guys, I have a T56 going into my 71 Trans Am, my firewall is flat, and would like to use a Tilton Master Cylinder like Tick uses. It seems dumb to spend an extra 200.00 on the Tick unit and then 50.0 on an angle adapter mounting plate just to make that one work when my firewall is flat. So which bored size do I need 3/4" or 1"? Also anyone know where I can get the line to go from the master to the t56?

the tilton unit tick uses has a 7/8" bore the stock one is 3/4" and is a little too small. as far as the line goes you can probably use the stock one from an fbody which any sponsor or ebay should have. although idk if the end that goes into the master will be different for the universal tilton so you may want to check on that. worse comes to worse a hydraulic line shop should be able to get you hooked up.

Stock is 3/4 and isn't too small as long as pedal travel is correct.
McLeod is 13/16" and Tick had a brief run of that size during back order of the 7/8" Tiltons.
Does the 71 brake booster allow clearance of a clutch master installed perpendicular to the firewall? If pedal travel matches stock, 3/4" should be fine. If you run more travel, less bore is needed and vice versa. Aim to match the stock parts' volume movement and compensate with the other dimension as needed.
