Default Clutch measurements don't add up. Please help

So I'm installing a spec stage 2 clutch on my camaro. To be safe I decided to measure if it needed a shim which came with the kit. My measurement from the throw out bearing to the trans was 2 7/16 with no shim. On the clutch to the bell housing I'm only getting 2 1/8. What's wrong here measurement A is supposed to be lesser than B. I removed the spring from the TOB and fully seated it against the slave. Any advice please help

Well I think I just answered my own question. The TOB wasn't fully compressed because the bleeder was closed and there was a piece of the old TOB stuck inside of the slave. Now I measure 2" on the TOB and 2 1/8 on the clutch. Should I run that or add the 1/8 inch shim to close the gap?

With the difference that you note you should not add the shim. If you did it would pre-load the fingers as wear occurs.
