98 ls1 jimbo

Yesterday I raced my car. I took off and when I hit second gear it felt like it went into neutral. All my gears work fine except second did I blow my trany. Doi have to rebuild or can it be a easy fix? what do u guys think? It's a 98 ls1 t56. Stock clutch. Thanks.

Early designs of 2nd gear have small teeth that shear off. That's a good possibility of what happened, and yes you're ready for rebuild time.

Its never an "easy fix" unfortunately. The trans is 15yrs old. You definitely need a rebuild. Our upgraded builds start at 850 parts/labor.
