Default Not your normal 2nd gear grind

I have been noticing my car will grind going into second if I try to quickly shift while the car is spinning in first. If I ride out first and regain traction and then shift it goes in just fine. Or if I don't spin first at all and grab second it always shifts fine.

Is this caused by the typical ls1 hydraulics issues? My clutch is pretty much toast and needs to be replaced. Could that be the issue? Or is it a sign of the 2nd gear blocker getting weak?

How many miles on trans? All stock hydraulics/clutch? Is this something that just started happening?

As far as I know the trans clutch and hydraulics all have about 150k on them like the rest of the car. It's only started happening recently as the streets have gotten cold and the nittos don't hold in first. If they do not spin the transmission shifts fine. But if it spins first then it grinds a touch.

Assuming that when it's spinning it's reaching higher RPMs than when it's hooking, then that's likely just the stock master. If you mean you take it to the same revs in first while spinning and while hooking, that's different.

Yeah its only when spinning. I haven't tried shifting at lower rpms but its normally around 6000 or so. I was thinking hydraulics as well so I am glad its not transmission related. I am planning a monster stage 2 or 3 clutch over the winter and was just going to use new stock hydraulics. I guess I am going to need to fit a Tick master into the budget
