Default clutch

I have a 1999 Trans-am T56 Trans it has 97K miles and this spring i plan on doing my first clutch job the car is stock except a cold air intake and skip shift eliminator and msd wires and plugs and a strut bar so my question is what is intailed in doing a clutch and what should i all do wile the trans is out

you could find 411 on doing search in this forum or internet.....or go buy a Haynes service book for your specific car.

pilot bearing is something you want to replace also. Use the corrrect puller to remove it. get the FW resurfaced or replaced. You should also bleed your hydraulics so you have fresh brake fluid in them

Lots of steps to do in replacing clutch but not hard if you are mechanically inclined and have tools

I just did mine and all I needed was
Keep in mind these 2 guys have part 1-part 3 or how ever many.First guy is Blueknight on LS1Tech.
I did Tick speed bleeder(best thing I did) Tick Master and a new slave, also the pilot bearing.

Not sure of your future plans for power, but our Level 1 basic package is a great bang for the buck clutch and comes with pilot bearing, release bearing, dowel pins and alignment tool as well as a 28lb billet steel flywheel which would save you resurfacing/shimming cost. your level 1 is a 12 inch clutch I have a factory setup and have no idea what factory uses is this a direct swap for stock? my plans with the car is just to keep it looking good and drivable it is not a race car

Yes, it is the same size as an LS7 vs your 10.5" factory clutch...if you read the description of the Level 1 it is intended to be an upgrade over a factory replacement, while still retaining stock driveability.
