Hallo people

I have a question. I think about to get me a 2000 Camaro Z28 with a manual transmission. the owner said its hard to shift when the engine/transmission goes hot. I dont want to buy the car with a destroyed transmission.

What could be the problem. i hope for a air in the hydraulic of the clutch.

are there any problems with the T56 transmission? i dont want to replace the transmission.

does it shift poorly at all amounts of throttle or is it just shift blocking at full throttle? (common problem)

Does the car have any mods ? what clutch is in it?

If its shift blocking on wot shifts check the clutch fluid reservoir by the brake fluid reservoir to see if the fluid is clear or dirty , if its dirty it can contribute to this issue.

I really dont know which clutch he got in this camaro
but i think its stock.

he said i happens when he want to shift fast and he cant get into reverse that fast. takes allways a lil time.

i hope that theres some air in the hydraulic system. that would be a easy fix.
i havent asked how the fluid looks like.

i just hope the t56 transmission is alright

don't ask how the fluid looks , look at it yourself , if its not clear its contaminated , but the reverse issue sounds different than what I have seen on my car when the fluid gets dirty.

you could always act like the shift issue is really scaring you , negotiate the price down accordingly then hopefully its an easy fix like air in the hydraulics , dirty fluid , etc..
