Default t56 parts name confusion

Ok,

I am confused about some name here. Is release bearing the same as the slave cylinder? Or is release bearing part of the slave cylinder? How about the throw out bearing? Where are they located?

When I get a new slave, does it includes all these parts??

Pics will be great. Checked google but they show pictures of slave cylinder.

The release bearing/throw out is the same bearing and is part/attached to the slave cylinder assembly. You wouldn't be the 1st to be confused by this. You can actually order a slave cylinder without the release bearing, but I wouldn't. The other bearing you want to be concerned with in clutch swap would be the pilot bearing, this bearing is pressed into the backside of the motor/crank and is what the end of input shaft rides on.

So are the parts interchangeable? If I got Orem slave, can I install a McLeod release bearing?

McLeod does make an adjustable NON-OEM slave, if you are referring to the TOB|release bearing for that unit, would probably say no.

If you are just referring to an OEM type release bearing like the ones in those pics that they sell, sure.

Back in the day they were separate parts but come as one unit now. The weak part is the seal on the slave under the throw out

The new units are black and have a better slave design but you must use the old quick connect from the factory slave and not the u clip fitting the black style comes with
