Default Odd slave cylinder disconnection

I recently removed the hydraulic line from my T56 ('99 camaro SS), and when the fitting finally released, the line pop off under quite a bit of air pressure. There was next to zero fluid spilled. Is that typical, or was that due to having air in the system? Prior to removing the line, the clutch seemed to be working normally.
