Default Hurst M6 Billet/Plus Shifter Boot Replacement?

Hi all,

I recently started the ol' transmission pull for a rebuild and noticed my 5 year old Hurst Billet/Plus shifter boot is absolutely destroyed. The rubber thickness must be too thin and it shredded itself. This boot is for the shifter only, to seal the ball joint from dirt and road grime. The factory rubber tunnel boot is a different piece and is used in addition.

I called Hurst and asked for a replacement boot today. $20+shipping, and it's backordered for two weeks.

This got me to thinking, is there any generic boot I might be able to find on Jegs or somewhere similar that I can use? Anyone tried this?

For anyone's benefit, the Hurst boot part number is 1145001 for the 3915061 shifter, and MIGHT be the same on the 3915060.

Go to Core Shifters and see if they have the Hurst boot, they have a lot of Hurst stuff and are good people.

Awesome referral, they had one. Thank you!

As for the boot catching, I think I might try some rubber covers over the threads to prevent another tear.
