Default Is an adjustable master a safe alternative to shims?

I have a spec 3 ceramic in my car.. Been in there for about a year.

No shims.

My slave went out, and I'm currently having the trans rebuilt (no 3/4) and putting in the new slave..

In all my reading, I found a lot of things about shims for the spec clutches.. and I'm wondering if my adjustable master is fine or should I look into possibly getting a shim for my setup?

I dont think an adjustable master will affect the motion of the slave, which is what the shims do. The shims lengthen or shorten the slave to make it contact the pressure plate sooner or later. The adjustable master allows you to change the engagement point of the pedal. You will be beating around the bush so to speak.

I think all you need to do it bolt in the tranny with one or two bolts to see if the shim works, that way you dont have to rip everything apart to use a different shim.
