I didn't realize that he stopped selling his.
Go with the Raptor shift light. Very similar in design to his, maybe a little nicer quality.

I would think it would fit there with no problem. I've got mine mounted to the plastic panel just above the instrument display, to the right of the speedometer.

Yes the raptor light will fit in the vent. That is where mine is mounted, had to cut some of the vent piping out though. Here is a picture of my light at night in the vent.
