Default Stock rebuild or Mcleod

As far as reliability would it be better to go w/ the stock tremec upgraded w/ new 3-4 syncro ,billet slider keys, carbon blocker rings, steel shift fork and the basic rebuild kit (bearings and shims). Or would the Mcleod t-56 be a better investment . I need something to hold up to my normal driving(drive it like you stole it) and the occasional trip to the track or sat. night on the back roads, and possibly a newer performance motor (550 - 650 HP)down the road.Any sugs. or help would really be appreciated.
