Default question about stock clutch

i have an 01 SS with full bolt ons and a cam. (put down 409 at the wheels) Now for the question, i know it is the LS6 cluthc which is supposed to be able to handle that amount of power, but since i have modded the car, i have noticed that when i get on it hard at highway speeds (like 80 or so) the trans doesnt want to go in gear. Also, every onece in a while when i get on it in like 3rd i can smell some clutch. THis clutch hasn't ever been to the track, nor have i roasted it. Why is it starting to smell? The cluthc only has about 14,000 miles on it.

i have yet to do the drill mod, but am going to be doing it shortly. Do you think this will cure my problem, or do you think i trashed my clutch?

thanks

u have to do the drill mod 1st.

but a smelly clutch usually means the clutch is gone.
regardless, doing the drill is only going to help with future clutches.

The LS6 clutch is not going to hold up to your rwhp for long.
