With new SPEC S3: need new master or just slave?
I'm getting ready to order a new clutch, and I was hoping someone knew if I needed to buy a new master cylinder, or just the slave? I know the slave was upgraded after 2000 (my year), but I can't find anything about needing a new master...

B.T.W. Does anyone know what was actually changed to make the newer slave better? I'm running a spec3 with the older slave and no problems. I looked it over and can't figure out how it (slave) couldn't work. The laws of hydraulics don't care what year your parts were made.

Get both from GM. They look the same on the outside but are different internally. I had a lot of problems shifting in my car and when I replaced the clutch I did both...it's great now. If you have a 98-00 car and you haven't lost your master/slave yet, it's coming soon, or you are very lucky and rare.
