Default Tranny work

Ok, Im thinking of buying a project car.
The guy has a 1999 black TA M6, which just happens to be the car I really want.
Apperently it has a 1998 corvette engine with 28k on it, 48k on the car total.
But he says the only major problem is with the tranny, "the 3rd gear sychronizer is bad in the transmission, so i basically just skipped that gear rather than further damage it"
I was wondering how much Im looking at to get something like this fixed.
I have a local tranny shop, and the owner is a friend of my grandfathers, so I should get a good deal on the repair.
And worst cast if I needed the tranny rebuilt, what am I looking at?
Help would be appreciated.
thanks
JD

Best case should be $169 for the carbon blockering ring kit, new 3/4 fork $39.00, New Gear if the synchro teeth are worn $139.00, Labor $Unknown what he charges but ususally $350 is about a good estimate and any additional goodies you will want to throw in. I would suggest billet slider keys at $79 per set, Bronze fork pads at $30.00 per fork and look at the slider assemblies to make sure they are not worn.

Thanks,
Joe
