stock 99 z shifter vs Stock hurst? I have a stock 99 z28 shifter with hurst handle and i was looking into getting a factory hurst with short stick. How much better is it over the one i got?

I have the factory Hurst with the std handle and I like it. I suggest you do this in steps. Buy the short handle and trial it on the std shifter. If you want more get the Hurst and you will have two handles to try with it.
