Default 450hp through a t56

what will i need to do to a t56 to make it handle from 450-500 hp?

do you mean 450-500rwhp? or flywheel? You really could get away with leaving it how it is...its the rear end you would need to worry about before the T56

at the wheels. i dont need to upgrade to stage 2 or 3 clutch then?

I was always told that the t56 was good for 450 at the wheels

Yeah you need a good clutch with that. The stocker will go out by 400 rwhp

The tranny will last.We run 800hp/800tq on our's no problem. But you will need a clutch.

I was making 450 + EASY and mine was completely stock.. Just had a stg 3 spec clutch.

You can get a centerforce dual friction clutch with steel flywheel from BYUNSPEED for like $630 and that should hold that hp without a prob and you might want to think about uprgrading you master cyl and throwout bearing.

i would look at the new centerforce 12" dual friction clutch. I have one and am very impressed with it. Just make sure you do get the 12" dual friction and not the old 11" design. As far as the tranny goes you will be just fine.

id stay away from centerforce until we see some real drag racing and durability results out of these, the old style didnt hold up worth a crap, spec, ram and some of the proven names is what id look into, long as they are installed properly they will hold up well, my spec 4 lasted a LONG time and i beat the garbage out of it

RAM 980 lasted 10K miles for me, no drag racing just hard street shifting. They have made improvements however since 02'.
