Grooving tailhousing shifter mount for neoprene gasket?
Anyone ever thought of cutting a groove in the perimeter of the tailhousing shifter mount spot and using something similar to a valve cover gasket there?
I pull my transmission a lot. I gotta do it again to replace my pilot bearing (long story, early Eagle crank, they sent me a new / oversize one for free tho ).
Anyhow, the part I dislike the most is cleaning my shifter (over and over) and slathering it with Permatex Ultra Black (over and over). A neoprene gasket would make life much simpler there.
Anyone?
(yes, the LS1 has spoiled me )

The GTO gasket sounds interesting. Might look in to it.
I've tried pulling / installing my trans with the Pro 5.0 stick removed, shifter on. No joy. Won't clear.
