Pilot Bearing quesitons
I just installed my clutch and have some doubts about the pilot bearing. When I installed it, it did not go all the way in. I used a little white lithium grease on the surface and then used a socket with some padding on it to drive the bushing in.
Is the bearing supposed to go all the way in.....such that no side wall is visible?
Does it matter what is installed first....the flywheel or the pilot bearing?
My trans slid in ok without much of a problem.......I just want to know if I have to redo this ...thanks

If you already installed the trans and the bolts tightened up, then the bearing is most likely seated all the way, even if it wasn't before. Some simple measuring can tell you if the bearing is far enough in the crank.

I took the engine and transmission out last night...(dropping the trans alone was not an option).....the bearing was almost flush......almost all the way in there......I rented a blind hole puller.....non of the autozone guys knew what it was but I had the part number for it(OEM27128 incase anybody needs it)....bearing came out without much of a fight.
I don't think I can reuse the bearing....so I have to get a new one. I am holding on putting the engine and trans back until I have double checked everything else.
I figured better safe than sorry....or not being able to shift after everything is in and bolted down.
Thanks guys
