Default m22 muncie carnage (pics)

I know it's not on an fbody, but thought you guys would get a kick out of these. This tranny is...er, was in my '85 swb truck behind a mild 355 small block (~300hp/385tq). Guess the old "rockcrusher" just couldn't hand it. Only had 12k miles on it.....and I was granny shifting when it went!! Bah....it needed a couple new syncros anyway.

Nice work. I broke 6 teeth off a super t10 like that once.

I thought the M-22 had straight cut gears?

No, the M22 gears have less pitch than the M20, 21. They are not straight. Straighter, but not straight. That is not an M22 pictured.

Yep, looks like previous owner=1, me=0. It's definitely not an m22 like he said it was. I'm pretty sure it's a close ratio gearset, so it's probably a run-of-the-mill m21.....oh well. Guess I'm not so surprised now that it broke.
