Default New UMI Short Stick Probs

I Just got my new UMI short stick in the mail. Good piece, but when I went to install it on my stock hurst, my hurst white ball 6 speed pattern shift **** wouldn't fit on the new UMI stick, anyone know why? Different thread patterns? The sticks seem to be the same diameter, anyone?

I had this same problem with mine. I tried my stock hurst **** on it also and it wouldn work. I sent it back to umi and they rethreaded it for me. I made the mistake of cutting the shifter down first so they wouldn,t just swar it out for me. Try to line the stock shifter threads up with the umi piece and see if they are the same.

I had the same problem with my hurst ball, but my factory hurst **** went on just fine.

Probably just a pain to align with the stick.
