Default Transmission Fluid Discrepancy

Ok so i had my tranmission blow a couple of weeks ago, and for those of you that read my previous threads I finally found out what was wrong and it is the counter shaft (you know, that $1000 part) a few slider keys and a syncro. And also it got hot enough to weld two pieces together, although I can't remember which ones they were. I took it to a guy I trust and he thinks that Pontiac put the wrong fluid in. Pontiac told me that they put in BG Universal Synthetic ATF which they tell me is more than compatible but in different cars that also use Dextron III I have heard that this BG stuff is non-compatible, so I am trying to get Pontiac to help pay for the damages. So if anyone has any info on this or knows anyone who does please let me know.
Thanks

you may be on to something...

http://eolcs.api.org/

no oils on their list with the name BG in it...

I figure if they can't get API certified, then why should I trust using their oil in my car? GM only warrantees API certified fluids...
