Default Ls6 or SPEC stage 1 clutch

I just bought a 2000 camaro ss and the clutch is slipping. I don't really want a high performance clutch but I also don't want a stock clutch. The car is a daily driver but will most likely see a day or two at the track. Both 1/4 mile and autocross. I found two clutches that seemed reasonably priced one being the LS6 clutch kit with flywheel and the other is the SPEC stage one. I was wondering which one you guys think would better fit my needs. I have read a few forums and people with SPEC clutches seem to be having some problems. Should I stay away from this brand?

Stock car = ls-7 or LUCK pro gold clutch. I personally have a Textralia, which would be outrageously expensive for your needs. Luk makes factorry GM clutches, and the ls7 makes more power than you now have. If you are not planning any mods, just get a cheap ls7 or Luk replacement. Heavy pedals and lots of chatter are something you shouldn't have to deal with until well past 500rwhp.

If I get the ls6 or ls7 clutch do I have to get the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and throw out bearing to go with it?

don't get the ls6. the ls7 is aound the same price but is a much much mroe superior product. you shoudl always replace the throwout bearing. Th slave should be updated to the 01-02 version. Master cylinder you may be okay on, then again a car that is 7 years old, may jsut replace it for piece of mind cause dropping the tranny is expensive.

Where are you finding the ls7 for the same price as the ls6? I found the ls6 kit for $368.75 and I can't find the ls7 kit for any cheaper than $689.00. I was trying to keep this whole project under $500, but even with the ls6 and a new slave cylinder it will be pushing $500.
