Default changing flywheel

So, if I swaped a GM flyhwheel with a newer GM flywheel, would I have to get the rotaing assembly rebalanced. Say you bent your flywheel, and baught a new GM replacement, would the balance be off?

So will it be out of balance enough to cause damage to the motor? The reason I ask is that I am going to get the rotating assembly balanced Wednesday and I have a flywheel from a corvette Im just letting them use so they can complete it. But I have the extended flywheel on backorder from GMPartsdirect that will be used later.

What exactly are you doing? Did replace the disc and pressure plate? And you are wanting to balance the entire assembly before installing? How do you bend a flywheel?

And if you balance everything w/ a different flywheel then what you are going to install then yes it would be different balance. Just wait for the new flywheel save your money on the balance and install it!
