Secret to pulling the 3/4 synchro hub?
Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't it supposed to be pulled off with the use of a 3-jaw puller? I've already taken off the snap ring, outer synchronizer housing and the keys, but the inner hub will not slide off. I'm using a 5-ton puller and it just won't budge. I've already tried heating the hub to expand it and that didn't work either. How the heck do you guys take this thing off?
Also, do you have to pull the 1/2 hub off to replace the parts, or can I slide the rest of the gears by just pulling the 3/4 hub?

Well, it finally came off. It was very hard to take off with the 3-jaw puller, but that's the way to do it. And you have to also take off the 1/2 hub in order to rebuild the synchronizer because there is a protrusion from the shaft that the rest of the gears seat onto. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put the hub back onto the shaft.
