Default yoke T56

is the yoke from the driveshaft from a T56 the same as a th350 or th400
or th700 ??

as i don't have a driveshaft for my T56 project and the 350's and 400's are easy available

They can be. The key factors are tooth count and wall thickness. Some applications( HD/ Truck) use a thick-wall yoke and , although the spline matches, will not fit the rear bushing.

so you are saying that all th350 and th400 ykoes will fit the gearbox but might not fit the rearaxle ?

i'll have to make a special driveshaft anyway, so it only matters that it will fit the T56 and not the rearaxle....

No, what I said is there are different yokes to match the different applications. The Fcar uses a 27T thin -wall yoke. Some 350 and 400 applications use the same yoke. There are 27T thick-wall yokes and 32T spline thin & thick wall yokes as well. You will have to match the correct yoke to your trans.

my trans IS a T56

i do assume all ls1 T56's have the same spline count and thickness ?

so i need a thin 27tooth yoke from a gm car ?

That sounds reasonable. Avoid the trucks and SUVs as they will tend to have the heavier duty yokes.
