grinding without shifting?

Question grinding without shifting?

i'm gettin a noise when i push the clutch in and have the revs above 3k. it stop when i either let out on the clutch or let the revs drop. also does it from time to time goin into gear. my fluid is black, so i'm gonna replace the master this weekend. any other ideas what this could be?

Is it a high-pitched squeal? Could be the pilot bearing. If it is, replace it with a solid bushing. They're like $5 from Advance or AutoZone.

not so much a squeal...more of a humming or groaning sound.
