Default Current master cylinder no restriction in line???

I have a new 01-02 master cylinder and just took the line off and started feeling around with a drill bit and found no restriction???

I'm sure I've pushed the drillbit by hand past the "1 inch" mark and found I would probably loose it in the line if I pushed it further.

Anyone else have any experience with the newer master cylinders? Did you have to do the drill mod?

There is another thread in here where the guy has an 01-02 and it had the restriction in it. Maybe they started not putting the restriction in the line in the last few years since then.

Here's the part number 12570277 7039-1

I called my parts supplier and he mentioned it was a GM "High Performance" MC. Anyone else hear anything on this?
