Default Spec slave cylinder shim

Hello,

I'm replacing my spec 1 with another spec 1. I replaced the slave last month and don't remember a shim, however it was on the car for 50,000 miles so it might have just been stuck to the old slave.

Put it back together and have had a plether of issues. Now i'm putting in a new spec 1 and new flywheel.

Problem is I'm not sure if this green peice is just a tranny seal or an old way of shimming instead of the metal plate. Hopefully someone can give me a quick answer

Here is the tranny with the green thing

Here is the shim that came with the new clutch

That green thing is the old style shim Spec used several years ago. The new metal piece is the shim they have been using recently.

Thanks for the reply!

I already put it together without the metal shim, I figured it was too much of a coincidence they looked identical.

Thanks again.
