Default To power shift or not 2.

Hey yall me and a friend are having an argument about power shifting. I have one friend with a 2002 WS6 with 14k miles on it. he powershifted his car maybe 5 or 6 times and now third gear is messed up. MY other friend says that it makes a BIG difference in accleration. IMO its not worth it to power shift seen as how it isnt the best thing for the transmission. I have seen people who can shift there *** off with out power shifting......

these are both bone stock WS6's........ one has 100+k miles and the other 14k miles.

just wondering yalls opinion.

ya i left the gas, but if you shift fast enough the gas is never 100% off, not worth the risk of damage in my opinion.

Powershifting will get every last ounce that the car has to offer bottom line. If don't want slightly better et and higher mph don't powershift.

I typically gain 2-3mph in trap speed when powershifting ; however the tradeoff most likely is faster tranmission wear.

I had steel shift forks, carbon blockers, and upgraded synchros in my transmission when I installed it (fresh rebuild). The basic upgrades like this make the T56 good for 700rwhp. Beyond that you need a 300M Viper output shaft. Next step up is custom gears etc.

Its the price you pay. Here is my .02 on power-shifting.Everyone knows a peddal car puts down more Hp to the rear than an automatic. An automatic you put it in drive and floor it.Good enuff for some.I prefer a stick car over an auto.If shifted right and quick enuff(without missing a gear) you will run down the automatic everytime.(streetcars,no pro-mod stuff here..lol)But the tranny does take alot of abuse powershifting.....its just a matter of how you drive the car.I have blowed up tranny's just goofing off at the light!Spent a 1500 bucks and 2 weeks later did the same damn thing. Now that was not fun.....
