Is there a crank/flywheel Dowl pin?

Is there a crank/flywheel Dowl pin? I am in the middle of putting my clutch setup on and I noticed a hole for a dowl pin in the rear of the crank and in the flywheel. The motor I am putting in is from a junkyard and I have 2 more junkyard LS1 sitting in the garage. None of them have the dowl pin in the flywheel bolt circle in the end of the crank. So I am wondering if they didnt use one. Or if for some reason when pulling the engines at the junkyard all the dowl pins got lost
