Default Is there a crank/flywheel Dowl pin?

I am in the middle of putting my clutch setup on and I noticed a hole for a dowl pin in the rear of the crank and in the flywheel. The motor I am putting in is from a junkyard and I have 2 more junkyard LS1 sitting in the garage. None of them have the dowl pin in the flywheel bolt circle in the end of the crank. So I am wondering if they didnt use one. Or if for some reason when pulling the engines at the junkyard all the dowl pins got lost. Thanks, this is my first LS1 build so this is why I am unsure if they used one or not.
