Default Sticking gears

Sometimes while driving my car hard (mostly only at the road course) it will get caught in gear. It only really has happened in 4th. It will go into gears just fine (occasional grinding at high RPM but not terrible for 101k mile trans) but a few times it gets so stuck in 4th I've had to come back into the pits and slam the shifter until it releases from the gear. Sometime as worse than others, but it has been so bad I've considered sitting in the back and kicking the shifter to get it into neutral...Any ideas on what causes this?

The schncronizer slider keys break & jamb up when put into gear. Not uncommon.
You basically looking at a trans rebuild while your in there IMO.
Might as well upgrade /renew the rest while your there.

it sounds liek a slider or a fork might be bent or the throw out bearing is goin out or the pilot bearing needs to be changed

Well i doubt it the throwout bearing that has 10k miles at most, most just driving around town or highway trips, or the pilot bearing with the same mileage. I am expecting to rebuild it, my motor taking a trip changed those plans for a while. It made the last track day with no problems at all, but the one before it got stuck in 4th 3 times.

Could be anything, it's hard to say. Could be a blocker ring. Have you looked inside a manual trans?? I takes a few parts to make one thing work. If one thing goes wrong it make a whole lot of other stuff not work. Give six speed inc a call. They can explain it a little better than me.

Yep i've looked in this one even! Just the tail shaft housing though. Yea i might give them a ring if it keeps acting up. If someone rebuilds it, it'll be them

Well mine has been known by the previous owner to stick in fourth but after driving the car I haven't had it stick. now I will go to put it in fourth and just get a little bit of a grind and i opt to not put it in and got to fith. I have gotten brave and when driving it normal in town it will sometimes slide right in and its fine. On another note it is popping out of third.... Hoping for just some shift fork damage. not really looking to spend a lot of money on it at this time.
