Default 1-2 billet key install problem with pic

The keys I have have a tab on each end of the bottom that isn't there on the stock key. The slider won't move due to the added tab making the key .030" thicker on the ends and the key bottoms out in the blocker ring grove when the key is depressed in the slot with slidder movement.
I can grind the tabs off and make them work but just wondering if anyone has ran into this. It is a 02 f-body trans. Kinda wondering if it may be a key for a vette or viper. I believe they have a little different synchro assembly.

billet on left, stock on right

There's a recent post about this with pics if you do a search, but yes, it looks like the vette key and needs to be ground or replaced.

I couldnt find that thread but thanks. I finally got a confirm from sixspeedsinc that you grind the bottom tabs off for a f-body trans. What a PITA. It would have been nice to know this before the first assembly.
