Default Vibrations in shifter

Well i just put the motor in my car, ran into all kinds of problems, put a spec stage 5 in and ended up not needing the shim so i had to drop the tranny again and take the shim out. Now i finally get it driving after a year and all is semi ok, working out a few problems as they come. There would be a lound grinding/vibration in the shifter and tranny when i would downshift to like 5k rpms. That was the only time it did it so i said whatever and kept driving trying to make it not do that. I then made a pull last night from like 2nd, 3rd, and left off at the top of 4th beating the hell out of it and the vibration was there constantly after i let off. It would vibrate and make a grinding sound at anything about like 2.5k rpms. and in nuetral when i let the clutch out, put if i had the clutch pedal pressed in it did not make the sound. Clutch still grabs like a son of a bitch and is still pretty new so im sure the clutch isnt bad, but maybe out of alignment?

Did you mean to say it makes noise pedal out & goes away pedal depressed?
Then you have a throwout/pressure plate issue likely.

Brand new prothane motor and tranny mounts. correct, it makes noise pedal out & goes away pedal depressed. Looks like it time to drop the tranny.... again.
