Default Input shaft splines hitting the Pilot bearing...wrong bellhousing?

Ok I made a thread previously about how I cant get the damn transmission bolted on.

I took some measurements and basically there is 0% chance of it bolting on. The splines are moved ahead 3/8" to far so the splines hit the pilot bearing before the bellhousing is matted to the block.

This is a 01 LS1 tranmission (i believe, ls1 for sure); the engine is a 06 Corvette LS2? What's the deal I thought these were compatible?

TTT?

The input shaft comes out 7 1/4" inches from the housing.

You have the wrong pilot bushing. I assume the one in the engine looks like this:

but you need one like this, GM part number 14061685:

You dont' have to use a gm, you can get one from any parts place. The same bushing or bearing that fits an LS1 also fits small and bigblock chevys.

I occasionally have customers that want a bushing instead of a bearing and I use Dorman PN: 690-014. I get them from Car Quest for a few bucks.

The bearing you need has a smaller diameter and presses into the crank behind where the current bearing is pressed in alowing the input shaft to go in farther.
