Question which blow proof bell housing?

mcleod or quick time

are there any others made that are worth a damn?

any advantages or disadvantages about them besides the mcleod is heavier and requires modification for the install?

is the quick time as strong since its a pretty good bit less in weight?

you shave that weight off the mcleod with all the grinding you do to get it in. i would just go with the quick time

Your best bet would be to do a search, they both have pretty detailed write ups on this site. I have a McLeod but have not installed it yet. I bought it instead of the Quicktime because the QT was new on the scene and I didn't want any surprises. The QT is lighter but I think it may ship with an aluminum motorplate as opposed to the McLeods steel plate. The steel plate with the McLeod seems to be where most of the weight is. That is the piece that will save your engine if a clutch does explode, an aluminum plate won't stop anything although the QT may have switched over to a steel plate by now. Again, everything has already been covered on here. Try a quick search and you will find everything you need. Good luck,

Larry

I have the McCleod in my car and it wasn't too bad on the install. Grind some here...some there....test fit....and your done. I did mine with the engine out, so access was easy. Make sure they send you the correct bolts before starting the job. When they first started shipping (a couple years ago) they were sending the wrong bolts for the LS1.

Do a search.....the info is all here....
