Default T56 3rd and 5th problems

Having a problem, wondering if its shifter related or the forks, gates, etc.

When shifting fast, the higher the rpm the more often, from 2nd to 3rd, and also from 4th to 5th, Sometimes there is nothing there. It acts as though the shifter is going betweend the saddles on the rail. I can go into where 3rd is, but it doesnt engage anything. Also i am forced to go into 2nd/4th/6th to get the shifter to re-engage the detents. Any input on this? I was thinking maybe the bottom of the shifter is worn or chipped maybe?

Pull the shifter and look at the plastic socket it engages in. If its worn you will need to glue(epoxy) a new one in.

Thank you, i really think its something to do with that, as it shifts perfectly when done slow, and has very good synchros. I will do that sometime this winter cause its put away for the year already
