Default 3rd gear issue

I have a 00 ss and when downshifting it likes to pop out of 3rd, also under normal driving it seems to want to go in hard occasionally. Other than that the trans is good, could it the pads or a bent shift fork maybe?

Thanks
Scott

pads, fork, or broken key(s). double-check that you don't have a shifter stop blocking 3rd, otherwise start planning/saving for a rebuild.

Very common issue with the T56 . Typically installing a new syncro ring , updated shift fork and new pads fixes it . If the customer does not want to spend the money on billet keys , I always install new stamp steel ones even if the old ones look OK . Its funny how they do not really give as much trouble on the T5's like they do on the T56's .
