Default My New LT-1

its one of thoes revell die cast engine models. its pretty cool and takes only about an hour to assemble. this particular one is the old school LT-1 its a 71 or newer because it only has 360 hp where the 1970 verson had 375 anyways, they have a few other ones, small block ford, SOHC 427 ford, 327 chevy, 327 fuelie chevy, L89 Corvette 427, and a 426 HEMI. they are pretty sweet looking when they are finished, and only about 10 bucks at Wal-Mart. however during the hollidays i noticed they went up in price to about 20 bucks. so maby they will come down after the christmas rush. pretty cool overall.

I've got a clear one. It's a little bit larger than that, but it is very cool. You turn the crank and the whole motor works in perfect harmony...valves open, camshafts spin, pistons go up and down. That one took me about a week to finish (perfectionist). And then someone knocked it off the table and I didn't feel like fixing it...now it's in a box in the basement in quite a few pieces.

Sweet, Thats a nice find. However they are always $20 unless on sale. I got Race Hemi, Street Hemi, Ford 427 SOHC, Chevy L89 427, and Chevy small block street rod engine in 1/6th scale. I find them very fun to build. I had to order the race hemi preassembled though. I want the top fuel versions of the Hemi and 427 SOHC to complete my collection.

Here they all are. Note this isn't how I display them..just out for photos.

The center manifold covers both exhaust ports there. That motor has the stock manifolds on it, and they do that.

bdr_ws6 that is a sick collection. this is my first, so im looking to complete the series. i thought it was a fun build. not frustrating like most paint and glue models. i too had that clear model, but i started it about 7 years ago and it got glue down in the cylnders and locked up. so i said **** it and boxed it up.

Thanks..I have a mini museum of cars, bikes, motors and planes in my room. Out of space, for now untill I get new shelves in my stand for the cars. I too think the engines are a fun build, even with all the small pieces for the carbs and everything.
