Default My new 1967 rs camaro

Just got it last Friday, runs and drives great. Put about 200 miles on it over the weekend, just cruzing around. Not too many originals left here in Wisconsin.

One with my brother in laws Terminator

Will post some pictures as my project developes!!

Pretty rusty under the vinyl top, so windows need to be pulled and reset, new vinyl top, and paint the car red with a white bumble bee stripe. Car was originally a 327 and a glide, now has a 350 in it. If I can do it without hacking it up to bad, I would like to put a 4 speed in it. The power glide seems to shift good but it is a little boring for me!! For now I just need to buy all the relays so I can get the headlights to open! My budget will not allow for much until next year. (Per my wife)LOL

Cobra is my brother-in-laws, my actually brother has a 2002 Z-28. He was not there on photo day though. Kinda cool I have the first camaro and my bro has the last year. I can't wait to take some pictures of the two of them together in front of some old barn here in Wisconsin!!

Nice looking 67 you have there. Looks like you've got rust problems in the same place my 67 had when I first got it. Under that vinyl top. Ricks First Generation Camaro is an excellent parts source. I've got pratically all of my parts there and their technical support is great. A good website for first generation camaro owners is www.camaros.net. Check it out if you have a chance. It will help you learn alot about your first generation Camaro. Good luck with it!

I did the 4 speed swap on my car this past summer. You will not have to do any cutting to put the four speed in. The hole in the trans tunnel for 67 Camaros is the same for automatic and 4 speed transmissions. What kind of transmission does your car have it it now? Still have the original powerglide? The driveshaft is the same for all 67-69 camaros except those having turbo 400s. They were different. When I did my swap, I had to get another driveshaft from a friend of mine who had a 69 parts car because it had the longer 8" tail housing turbo 350(not original to the car) in it and that driveshaft wouldn't work with the four speed. A bit of trivia for you, turbo 350s weren't put into first generation camaros until 69.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!!

Thanks for the good information Andy, sounds like the muncie will be a pretty easy swap. That really makes my day because the powerglide has gotta go, to boring for me. I have already checked out ricks first generation and seems like they will be who I primarily deal with as well.

Nice super sports you have there! That must be a tough decision on nice sat. afternoon!!

What a beautiful blank canvas. I think your plan sounds great. I think a black bumblebee stripe would look better with your black top than white, just my two cents...

Keep us informed, I can't wait to see the finished product.

No problem man. I'm glad to help out a fellow first generation camaro owner. My 67 definately gets drove more since I did the 4 speed swap. It was like a totally different car after the swap. It felt like I gained 50 hp.
