Be Cautious of 72Elkytpi
I bought a "good" used t56 off him at the end of may. Went and picked it up in person and was told it shifted fine. Finally ended up swapping it into my car about 2 weeks later and I had a grind on quick shifts to 2nd gear and a grind on the 3rd gear down shift. Finally got to tearing it down last week and it needed all new synchros, fork pads, 2nd gear, and 1-2 synchro hub because the teeth were done.
I contacted him at the time of the install and basically said what was going on and that I was going to try a new master first and see but if it needed a rebuild I'd like some kind of retribution back.
He basically told me no way he wouldnt do it and that even if it did need a rebuild the $1200 I paid was still a good deal for a core t56, which is bs. In the end I would have spent less money just buying a new BUILT one off here... If he comes forward and offers to pay some of the rebuild I'm fine with that and I'll retract this but I dont see that happening.
