Default More Horsies

So you want more horsepower. Let me be the one to say an LS 1 puts out way more power than a stock Formula/TransAm suspension/Chassis can handle. If you havn't, you should upgrade here first. Unless your engine is already shot and it needs medical attention.
When i got my Hawk with 9,400 miles, it way over powers the chassis/suspension.
My engine is completly stock not including a full custom exhaust.
After these upgrades i have no desire to add engine mods.
I did these in this order.
Already had shocks and springs
Poly Transmission Mt.
Anti sway bars
Upper/Lower Panhards
Lower Control Arms
Tourque arm/Tranny cross member
Headers/Exhaust
Solid engine mounts.
All this did way more than i expected.
These really made the car tight and the wheels stick like hot snot on sand paper.
If you go straight to heads and cam, your gonna wish you did all this anyway.
This is a street,, not strip car. And i have no desire to prove to Mustang Charlie that im faster.
Somewhere in there i also installed a clutch and flywheel.

dont know what your getting at here, but yes most people jump right for the go and nothing to go with it. on a lot of performance sites they reccomend suspension mods first off. matter of fact, they reccomend subframe connectors first, which i noticed you dont have...i think your headed in the right direction for mods. for sure, the cars have 300+rwhp from the factory, more than most muscle cars can say. use what you got!!!

i agree. i roadrace my 04 gto and the ls1 has plenty of power. 1st thing i changed were the tiny little disc brakes. engine mods will def be last.
