Default 1998 TA clutch problem..HELP

im new to this site.i just bought a 1998 trans am last night,ws6,6 spd. i'm having problems with the clutch.i'm a mechanic myself and asked a few friends who are good mechanics about this and we just cant figure it out without taking the tranny out.if i drive normal the clutch works great, but as soon as i make it spin or give 'er and get it to turn around 6000 rpm i lose my clutch.then i have to pull it back with my foot cause the pedals almost to the floor, and pump it 4 or 5 times then i get my clutch back.did this ever happen to anybody out there?
