newbie question about alternators I'm installing a LS6 into my Datsun 240z. I dont have a need for power steering pump or a/c. I'm also running an electric water pump. I only need to run a belt from the crank pulley to the alternator. ( I purchased a custom alernator bracket) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-R...Q5fAccessories
I purchased a crank pulley only to find out it was from the 6.0L motor. My question is, will it matter what alternator I buy? I know there is an alignment difference between crank pulleys, but didnt know if that also applied to the alternator bracket? or the alternator itself.
