Default low oil pressure

So I installed a brand new slp oil pump after my stock pump went out. No it's not a pinched o ring, was installed correctly. Although the pressure is a little better it's still very low when it warms up.. When driving steadily at 70 or so it's at about 11-14 psi.. and when i romp on it, it doesn't move passed 35 psi. No heavy ticking sounds but enough to hear their could be a problem. Sounds a bit like it's not getting oil to the top end or at least enough. Lifters have anything to do with oil pressure? Crank bearings? I really could use the help. And yes I have checked and bought a brand new oil pressure sending unit. I'm using a K&N oil filter. I also switched oil from mobile 1 synthetic 10w-30 to royal purple 5 or 10w-30

Sounds like there might have been some internal damage done when the previous pump failed. Looks like you've gone over the basics of what the simple fixes would be, but still have seriously low pressure.

I'd probably consider getting an oil test done and see what trace elements might be present and pointing towards possibile damage.

My buddy is having the same problem and I suggested to him to do the same thing. I know the pump is installed correctly because I have personally installed it three times to double check that the o-ring is not pinched. Have you put a mechanical gauge on it?
